Can talent be taught?

Image
Can talent really be taught? I don't think so! Raw talent can be nurtured and developed, but to actually teach someone without any talent evident or is incapable of displaying any amount of interest in the subject, will surely result in failure. I hear people quote "It's a gift" or he/she is "Born with it". I am a firm believer that if you display any amount of ability at a very young age you should be free to express that god given talent. What if this talent is bestowed upon you but you are deprived of the free time to express your talent? "Then you must try harder?" Certainly not my words, but often spoken without thought or compassion. It is widely understood that If you have the money and background status you will succeed? It is also said that if you are born with talent but haven't the money or any background status you can achieve! You have the desire, the belief, the energy and hunger but most of all the talent you were born with. So

Negotiate

Image
One of the most difficult aspects of any business is the tricky tightrope walk of negotiating. It can be especially tricky and becomes personal when someone tries to knock the price down of any original. It certainly is the one area that I struggle with the most. Although I do have a strict price cap and a structure based on materials and time. There are some of my originals that can be purchased at a very reasonable price and if an enquiry falls on a Friday, it could be their lucky day 🥰 after all, I was born on a Friday and Fridays, in my opinion are good days! Our Patreon platform makes easier for collectors to make offers without the embarrassment and the awkwardness of rejection. Make your offer today or leave until Friday for the  1972 Original  framed via our Patreon platform. Available for our gold tier members for a short period before it's publicly posted. 🥰  Our tiered member levels are priced accordingly to the collectors involvement and their interests.

Working From Home?

Image
As more organisations openly engage and encourage employees back to the office I sit in my studio thinking "I'm so glad I'm an artist" 😃 The office is great for the development of individuals and organisations encourage this. They want the interaction of their staff to bounce ideas off one another, swapping thoughts on projects etc. Looking back to my first job after leaving college as a young inspiring and creative individual entering the world of design and technology was very daunting. I wasn't all that happy with the close working environment within an office/studio. I learned very quickly that all my working ideas presented became the company's products and ultimately thier copyright ©️. Something didn't sit right with me and I was very uncomfortable with this arrangement. Ideas that I brought to the table should be mine, right? Not quite! Employment meant that the company had the rights to my ideas, after all I did sign a contract of employment. Bu

Subjective Art

Image
We all know "Art" can be subjective! You either like it or you hate it! There's no in-between, if you're undecided on a painting, you're most likely to walk away and pick something that is more striking that really captures your eye, grabs you and shouts out "Take Me Home". Follow My Art Page:  Click Here That is why I use red in my paintings as a central point, an area where it draws you in. You then discover other areas of the painting that you didn't notice at first glance, you are then drawn back to the red once again and the cycle of discovery starts again. You will never tire looking at my paintings because of the subject matter. You'll begin to reminisce evoking those memories of childhood. If you are a collector, Thank you for your continued support! It's much appreciated. If you are thinking of becoming a collector, please follow the link to my website   A serious collector of originals and want to be informed of First Editions? fol
