Grieving ❤️

When i'm missing my mum, sometimes the hardest part is figuring out what to do with all the love I still have for her. ❤️

I can’t hug her, call her, or hear her voice the way I used to. But the love is still there, and sometimes it hurts because I have nowhere to put it. Now I know it sounds crazy, but here's a few things I do when the missing feels especially heavy. ❤️

I talk to her. I tell her about my day, what’s hurting, what made me smile, and how much I wish she were here. Because my mum didn't actually get to visit my gallery and especially the opening on the first day. ❤️

I often write her a letter, but I don't send it, I keep it locked in my phone.

I write everything I wish I could tell her. I tell her what I miss most, what I would give anything to do one more time, and how much I love her. ❤️

I often go somewhere that brings me peace. I take a walk, sit outside, watch the sunset, or visit a place that reminds me of her. I give myself permission to feel whatever comes. ❤️

I often revisit a happy memory. I look through photographs, listen to a song that reminds me of her, or share a favorite story with someone who knew her. I know it's okay to laugh while i'm missing her. ❤️

I do let myself have a hard day. I know I  don't have to be strong every minute of the day. I cry when I need to. I rest if i'm exhausted. Some days, simply getting through the day is enough. And please remember this…

I don't have to stop missing her to keep living. I don't have to stop crying to prove i'm healing. And I don't have to pretend I'm okay when my heart is hurting. ❤️

Grief is love with nowhere familiar to go, so I find little ways to give that love a place to land. Some days, that might mean lighting a candle. Other days, it might mean saying her name out loud and letting the tears fall. And on the days when nothing seems to help, just take each day one moment at a time. ❤️
