8 Billion People Worldwide

"No one will own that original!"

Apart from that one person that bought it! Let's just think about that for a moment.

There's more than 8 Billion people in the world and you own an original! Ok, not everyone would have seen it while it was promoted, not everyone would have been engaged in the publicity or even remotely interested in the subject matter! Despite the none engagements, there is a great deal of interest generated when an artists work is released. Social media platforms, websites, press releases, blogs and even those event days organised for the artist to showcase in person. They all play a very important part in the communication and announcement of new releases.

Promotional and saleable products will all accumulate in promoting an artist. When an artist makes the decision to offer an original, it is important to consider the rarity of that original piece of work! It's never likely to come round again!

Who can afford original art? Not that many, the prices vary for a one off piece of art, it depends on popularity, rarity and even the medium used. After all a one off piece is the only one in the world, it's not like buying a car, other people will have the same model. That's why the price for original art is so highly priced. Other than the artist, no one will ever own it?

I understand, not everyone can afford an original piece and that's why I offer giclée prints. It's not just a print, it's a print that's produced so close to the original as possible and lasts a lifetime. Limited edition prints produced from the originals are hand signed and limited to an edition amount. Once the edition total has reached, say 200 prints, then the edition will end and no more prints will be made.

There are people that want to be included  and want to be part of what's available but can't justify the cost of a limited edition print. I was delighted when the recently released greetings cards of the "Potteries Nostalgic" and "The Way We Were" sets were made available. These cards truly make a wonderful addition to both collections. Greetings cards offer the customer so many choices, either sending them to friends and family individually, framing them as wall art for themselves or given as gifts. Greetings cards offer the collections to a much wider audience, an audience that would probably not have given any thought, if the only available products were on offer were limited editions and or originals.
